More About Katie McConnell

Education: Bachelor in Science in Elementary Education, Creighton University.

Personal interests:I am an avid runner - I LOVE running the chain of lakes here in Minneapolis! I also like to read, hike, journal, and travel. My students all know I love spending a morning in a cozy coffee shop - usually drinking an iced vanilla latte.

What I Love About Teaching: I love getting to see kids do hard things for the first time - whether it's multiplication, or giving a speech, or solving a problem with their friend on their own. It's an incredible blessing to watch kids' struggles become strengths and see the pride in their eyes when they lead their class or get better at a skill that is hard for them. These kids are always surprising me with new ideas and I love having my own perspective opened by them too.
